I know when you read this you will already have preconceived thoughts, notions and beliefs that the coldest beer on the strip in at one of the Minus5 Lounges for the obvious reasons, because the bar is made of ice. That might be the case but what I’m talking about is a small bar right smack in the middle of The Venetian, called the Very Venice Bar.
When we first decided to move to Vegas it was a whirlwind weekend and since my wife never visited Vegas before we hit The Strip with our walking shoes and let her soak up all the shopping she could. When we hit The Venetian we were a little parched so I suggested we grab a beer. I don’t know why but we passed a bunch of places that served alcohol, Sin City Brewing Co., Canonita, Lavo, TAO… basically all the places everyone knows until we came across this little round bar across from The Coffee Bean. On one side is the Very Venice Bar and the other side is an Ice Cream or smoothie place.
When we stepped up to the bar, Chris, asked us what we were having, I stated; ” the coldest beer you have”. I didn’t really think that statement would have any meaning but Chris explained that for some reason the refrigerator that houses the Corona, Bud Light and Coors Light were 3 – 5 degrees colder than all the rest of the beer he had. The reason for this was as elementary as it was simple. When they stock the beer in this particular
beer case the bottles of Corona, Bud Light and Coors Light wind up right under the cooling mechanism when stacked on top of each other. Sometimes, Chris explained the beer gets so cold… it freezes… or gets frosty crystals in it.
So after the introduction, which seems longer as I right it, than it really was, I got myself a Corona… and yes with a lime. It was “The Coldest Beer” I’ve had in a long time and hit the spot perfectly after all the shopping and walking we did. SO when you’re at The Venetian walking around taking in all the sights and sounds of Venice Italy walk a little to the middle of the resort and find the tiny gem called, Very Venice Bar and ask for Chris.
